Dr. Pletz is a native of St. Louis and graduated from Oakville Senior High School in 1989. He received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science in 1994 and a veterinary degree in 1998, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Pletz's areas of interest in veterinary medicine include dermatology, pediatrics, and dentistry.
He married Dr. Laura Pletz in 2000 and they have two great boys, Hayden and Brendan. Hendrix, a black lab; Newman, a Welsh Corgi; and Quin, a crazy cat add to the bustling Pletz household.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys waterfowl hunting, fishing and contributes a portion of his free time toward conservation efforts.
