Dr. Gilje was born and raised in West St. Louis County and graduated from Parkway West High School in 1977. Upon graduation she attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where she graduated from veterinary school in 1984. Her special veterinary interests include surgery, opthalmology, and pocket pets. You may also hear her on the radio show Animal Advice - found on 550 KTRS from 9am-10am every Saturday.
She married Mark Gilje in 2000 and they have two wonderful daughters Brittany and Madeline. They are also blessed with three dogs, two horses, one cat, and a guinea pig.
When not practicing veterinary medicine she enjoys: horseback riding; golf; upland bird hunting with their dogs; skiing; and fishing. On a quieter note, she loves cooking, artistic writing using calligraphy and woodworking projects.
